HISTORY

Established in 1877, the oldest building in downtown Santa Cruz, the Santa Cruz Hotel has endured her fair share of gossip; brothel, speakeasy, hauntings. Whether fact, fiction or a bit of both, this building clearly possesses a unique spirit, stamina and charm, all of which are values we strive to honor at Red.

With an All-American foundation, Red focuses on the wonders of California’s diverse food scene, and then follow Chef Galen Jordan’s creative vision. Conveniently located a few minutes from the sea, mountains and near bountiful agricultural regions, we are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to forage and source exceptional ingredients.
